When someone ~yes even a stranger~ knocks on my door, and asks if I want one room in my house carpet cleaned for free, it takes a lot for me to say no. When someone asks me if they can remove all the stains and spots out of my most "high traffic" area in my house, it definatly takes a lot for me to say no. Yes, I knew there would be a sales pitch. Yes, I knew me and my family were hoping to get out the door soon to go to the pumpkin patch. But, I also knew that my husband was there with me, and I would never do it otherwise (less some strange man comes into my house to invade my sweet children and I) So, since I knew there was no chance of that happening, and just the chance to have my whole front sitting room, and entry way cleaned (even if it took an hour) I shouted yes!! Please!! (well, not with that much enthusiasm).
The salesman proceeded to show me just how filthy my carpets were even with daily vacuuming, and the occasional carpet cleaning. And, I did love that vacuum. However, I didn't love it enough to spend almost $2,000.00 on the contraption. Yes, that's right $2,000. And, he acted like, "oh hey if it cleans your carpets, isn't any amount of money worth it?" I said nope, and he said "ok" (after much more 'sales pitching'!) And cleaned my carpets. I even felt a little bad for him, but happy for me! I figure I can hire a professional carpet cleaning company a few times a year for a few years for that amount. Nice try, buddy. Thanks (for my now clean carpets) but no thanks to just deciding to spend two-thousand bucks one random Saturday afternoon.
I’ll say it again, I’m a sucker. For clean carpets, that is. No pun intended~
And, now, I’m happily left with no expensive vacuum and a very fluffy, clean, and pretty-to-look at living room!! Well, at least until I let the kids back in there . . .

PS - it also bought my kids one hour of pure entertainment. They were mesmerized. Natalie was scared for her life the first five minutes, and then was like "mom, who's this weirdo" And Tyler happily introduced himself as "Tyler Unck, and I'm 3". We have been working hard to get him to do that lately, so we were very proud. I'm so glad my whole family was around today to share this special experience with me. Bryce and I have gotten an entire evening of laughs out of it.
Pumpkin Patch and Omaha pictures coming soon!

That was such a random, funny post. I loved it. Yeah for clean carpets. I can't wait for you to come back to Omaha. I hope you are shorting me on your stay over Christmas.
