Keeping busy

Well, it has been a very busy and full week. Last weekend I got to fly out to Dallas, by myself, while Bryce hung out with Tyler and Natalie for the weekend. I got to spend four days with my mom while we sewed, shopped, and ate at lots of yummy places! It was great. I forgot how nice it is to stay up late, and sleep in, and just play all day! However, I was glad to get back my family, especially after a nice break. As soon as I got home on Tuesday night, Bryce left town for work Wednesday morning. The kids and I have kept very busy enjoying all our nice warm - but not too warm weather!

I have been having fun working on some sewing projects lately. I'm finishing a blanket my mom and I made for Natalie, and also some Christmas stockings, that are just so cute. Here are some pictures of what I've done so far.

This is the 'original' stocking that my mother-in-law, Kathy, created. I loved it so much, I took the pattern. This is what it supposed to look like in the end

This is one I made, with no name at the top, yet

This is the other one I am currently working on, no back on it yet.

Natalie's new rag blanket. Not done yet, but this is the cute flannel we chose. She will love it!

I know its not much, I'm just learning to sew, and it takes me a while! But, I'm having fun picking out cute Christmas fabric for more stocking at this website which carries moda fabric. If you haven't used or seen moda fabric, you're in for a treat. It is really nice, and darling printed material.
My "Ant" Leslie also showed me the pattern to making some cute pillow cases. My mom used to make them for us when we were kids growing up, so I'm anxious for my kids to enjoy them too. There pictures are of ones my Aunt, excuse me I mean "ant" made for Tyler and Natalie. I'm hoping to whip one up soon as well! So next time you see some adorable kids fabric, think "I can make a pillow case with that!" They are so fun to have, and great to travel with. Your kids will love them. These are a little more fancy (as fancy as you can get with a pillow case!) with a cuff, and trim, or you can keep it basic. Too fun!

(Ok, I can't get the pictures of the pillows to post, I will try later!)

Time to go watch the Presidential Debate!

Very cute stocking! Love them! You are making me more anxious to get started on my sewing for Christmas. I have a bunch of quilts to make!
